Expert Defensive Firearms Training in Nevada and Utah

Who is responsible to protect you and your loved ones from violent criminals?  We believe it is your duty, and we want to help you prepare yourself for that duty. At Duty to Defend, we believe that defensive firearms training is just one aspect of being a wise, prudent, and responsible citizen.

We pride ourselves on providing affordable classes. We are willing to charge less per person so we can train more people. Our mission is to teach the good, honest people of this country the skills necessary to be competent and confident in their ability to carry a gun safely and use it efficiently if necessary.

We make use of local shooting ranges to bring the class to the people so they can avoid travel and lodging costs and minimize time away from work or school. We understand that it can be expensive to buy a gun and all the gear necessary to get training. To overcome this obstacle, we have made our guns and gear available for your use. This makes it very convenient for new shooters to get started. Our class lasts all day, which some people may think is excessive, but others will think it is not nearly enough time when compared with multiple day classes offered elsewhere. We highly encourage people to get lots of training, but also recognize that a lot of people simply can't get away for multiple days. One day is enough time to teach gun safety and shooting fundamentals and still have time to practice working from the holster - a critical skill for defensive handgun use, but one that often gets neglected in shorter classes. After one day of training, we don't expect that you will have mastered these skills, but we will teach you how you can practice at home and at the range on your own so that you can master these skills.

Our founder, Jon Reynolds, has over 35 years of firearms experience, including 13 years as a full-time professional firearms instructor and Senior Range Master. He started Duty to Defend to help people like you learn the skills they need to carry a gun safely and use it efficiently if necessary.
