Jon is an amazing instructor! My husband and I took his 1-day defensive handgun class, and it was an awesome experience. Going into it, I had shot guns a few times but had never felt very comfortable or competent with them. Walking out of his class, I not only feel more confident handling a handgun, but I feel I can do so safely and much more accurately than before. The course builds on itself throughout the day, so it is easy to follow along with. It includes tons of practice, so you can apply what you learn as you go. Jon is incredibly knowledgeable, experienced, encouraging, and organized, and I recommend his courses to everyone of any level of experience.
I participated in one of Jon's full day classes and I could not have been happier with it! My wife and I are fairly new to the gun community. We have both had some experience with shooting guns, but aren't very confident with hand guns. The progress we saw throughout this class was much more than we expected!
Jon is extremely knowledgeable and a great teacher. He was great at diagnosing the errors that were causing our shots to be inaccurate and showing us how to correct them. His drills were great as well! If you are a new gun owner or are looking to get a gun, I would seriously consider this class. It teaches you everything you need to know to safely handle and accurately shoot a firearm. If you are competent with guns already, there is a lot you can learn about training techniques from this class as well. His prices are the best we have found as well! I couldn't recommend this class enough. Thanks Jon!
This class beats any shooting class I have ever taken. (And I have taken others!) I was amazed at the down-to-earth way I learned how to handle my gun and to know what to do in a moment of need. I invite all my large family (and you) to take this class!
Thanks for teaching me about how to keep a weapon safe. Your course helped me realize the guns can be handled in a safe and respectful manner. I was scared to be anywhere near firearms before. Now I see them as a tool and I feel safe owning my own for my own defense.
This was the best handgun training experience I have had. Jon was an amazing instructor. I have been to three other training programs in the past and felt like this one helped me to understand defensive handgun situations and responses then I have known before. I appreciated the intelligent humor and focus on safety that accompanied the real life situations. We had people of all skill levels from 12 year old kids that had never handled a gun to seasoned former marines and army infantry in our session and it was a joy to learn side by side. Jon's instruction technique is clear, concise and encouraging for those who are new to shooting. It was also sensible and practical to those of us who have been shooting for years. What a joy this experience was and I look forward to taking more classes from Duty to Defend.

I took a 1-day defensive pistol course from John Reynolds. It was excellent! John’s instruction and operations were exceptionally well prepared and thought out. His gear was well organized and his instruction was concise and practical. He was very attentive to safety at all times. I couldn’t recommend the course and instruction more. I plan to attend more classes in the future and have invited friends to sign up with me again. If you are interested in learning to safely operate a firearm, I urge you to consider booking a course.
